You are probably thinking about starting a WorldVentures business and if you’re like me, you’ve scoured the internet and come across both positive and negative reviews.
WorldVentures is a multi-level marketing company in the travel niche that offers vacation lifestyle membership (DreamTrips) sold through direct selling by Independent Representatives of the company.
Selecting a new business opportunity is both exciting and confusing at the same time. This is especially true with MLM companies. You have to determine if a company is a scam or worth pursuing.
In this post, I will cover what WorldVentures is about and share my own online business model that is completely opposite of multi-level marketing.

How Does a WorldVentures Business Work?
WorldVentures is a multi-level marketing company that sells curated vacation packages called DreamTrips through a monthly membership.
These memberships and travel products are sold via direct selling through WorldVentures’ independent representatives. This is one of the ways you would earn commissions.
The second way to earn is by building your own team also known as building your downline.
As you build your own network of independent representatives, you can begin earning commissions and bonuses from their sales as well.
This is common in all MLMs. I am always confused by multi-level marketing compensation plans so if you want more details about WorldVentures’ comp plan, feel free to read up on it here.
WorldVentures Sign-up Costs
I’m not sure how accurate these sign-up fees are. However, what I could find online, most of these prices were the same.
- Standard WorldVentures Independent Rep – $99 / $10.99 monthly
- DreamTrips Membership – $199.95 / $26.99 monthly
- Gold Membership – $199.99 / $54.99 monthly
- Platinum Membership – $299.99 / $99.99 monthly
Before signing up with WorldVentures, you should also take a look at their income disclosure here. I’m not surprised by the results as most people that join an MLM do not have the success they were hoping for.
If you check out the screen capture of their income disclosure below, I have circled the highest percentage of representatives. 80% of representatives make under $500 within a 12-month range.
It’s not to say that there aren’t people within WorldVentures that make a decent income from it. However, you should go into it knowing what is possible.
WorldVentures Complaints
I have to admit, as I was doing research on WorldVentures, I was coming across a lot of user complaints and negative reviews.
This isn’t usually a big deal as almost all MLM companies have their share of negative feedback. I’m an independent distributor of Beachbody so I get it.
I don’t build my downline in the company but I’ve read negative reviews about the company such as “Beachbody coaches are annoying” and things like that.
However, being a part of Beachbody, I know that not everyone will like the company or the products. Therefore, I understand that WorldVentures will have its fair share of negativity as well.
The most complaints I found were on the Better Business Bureau website. In fact, it was one of the websites that ranked highly when I typed in WorldVentures reviews.
The common complaint was that WorldVentures was not paying out compensations on time. Hopefully, that issue has been resolved, otherwise, I do not know how they remain in business.
What to Understand About MLMs
When you are considering joining an MLM, you must understand that no matter how the business opportunity is presented, you will be in sales.
In order to make money, you will have to sell the products directly to customers and that means reaching out to people to share the products.
The same goes for building your downline as well. In MLM, you quickly run out of people to sell to when you’ve exhausted all of your family and friends.
This is why many people that join an MLM find it difficult and often give up. They do not like approaching strangers. The good news is with the use of the internet, you no longer have to use that strategy.
You can let targeted leads find you by using content marketing (blogging), sales funnels, social media, and more.
My Lead System Pro has been teaching network marketers how to accomplish this through their training and products since 2008.
What I Do Instead of Multi-Level Marketing
Although I am still a part of an MLM company, I do not build a downline. I have managed to sell quite a bit of product by marketing the products using affiliate marketing strategies.
I created a niche website in the health & fitness niche. I created content (blog posts) on my website using keyword research. The content I created is what attracted targeted visitors to my website.
When these visitors clicked on my referral links and purchased products, I made a commission. That, in a nutshell, is affiliate marketing.
Affiliate marketing is the promotion of another company’s products and/or services in exchange for a commission when a sale is made.
I prefer affiliate marketing over MLM for many reasons:
- No recruiting ever
- You don’t need your own product
- There is nothing to pack or ship
- Unlimited earning potential
- Work from anywhere
- Millions of products have affiliate programs
- Affiliate programs are free to join
- Choose any niche you like
- Build a portfolio of niche websites that earn income
I became serious about affiliate marketing after a job layoff. I decided to pursue it and needed an affiliate marketing training course to set me in the right direction.
I found this one and the training has helped me progress faster than if I tried to figure it all out on my own. Now I am able to earn a consistent income online with affiliate niche websites.
My Closing Thoughts On Building a WorldVentures business
WorldVentures seems to be an MLM company worth considering if you have an interest in travel. I would continue to do research on the company before making an investment.
If you are open to an alternative approach to creating an online business, consider affiliate marketing. It is what I do to make a consistent income online.
Niche websites are what I use to earn a consistent income online through affiliate marketing.
It is one of the best ways to earn affiliate commissions. I make commissions while I am sleeping, out grocery shopping, or relaxing with my loved ones.
Beginners may find it a bit challenging to get started. I did as well so I followed a step-by-step training program.
That training program made all of the difference for me and I use it today to help others one-on-one with creating and growing their own niche websites.
