How to Earn Affiliate Commissions in the Paddle Board Niche

Although there are many ways to earn affiliate commissions, one of the best (and my favorite way) is by creating a niche blog (also referred to as a niche website.)

There are many advantages to creating a niche blog. For one thing, they are extremely low-cost compared to other online business models.

Your out of pocket costs will include registering a domain name and obtaining a web hosting account. I recommend running your blog on WordPress which you can install with one-click with most web hosting services.

In total, your start-up costs can be well under $100 depending on the web hosting provider that you choose. My two recommended hosting providers include SiteGround and WPX.

Why Niche Blogs Work So Well

A niche blog is essentially a website that focuses on one specific topic. Why they work so well with promoting affiliate products is because of the content you create for your blog.

Content is what attracts targeted visitors to your blog. Imagine if you were searching for information about inflatable paddle boards. You do a web search and end up on a niche blog that has really helpful information about inflatable paddle boards.

Chances are, you would spend a bit of time browsing the blog posts and if the author of the post recommended a certain paddle board using their affiliate link, you may click on it and make a purchase.

That is how affiliate marketing works in a nutshell. You create helpful content that attracts your target audience. A percentage of these readers will click on your affiliate links and purchase from the merchant’s website.

I got my start earning affiliate commissions online by creating a niche blog. At first, I had no blueprint to follow and felt a bit lost. I didn’t want to waste a lot of time trying to figure out affiliate marketing on my own so I sought out an online training program and found this one.

Following that training program made a big difference for me. So much so that I was able to transition out of a full-time retail job into working full-time on my niche blog.

How to Create Helpful Content

The content that you create will be the key to having a successful niche blog. I suggest creating a new blog post at least 1 to 2 times per week at a bare minimum.

Figuring out what to write for your niche audience is made easier by doing a bit of long tail keyword research. You don’t need any fancy keyword tools to accomplish this.

My keyword tool of choice is Google search and its autosuggest feature. You can open up Google and begin typing in keyword phrases your niche audience would be interested in.

Another fast way of getting a list of these autosuggest keyword phrases is by using a free tool at KeywordTool.io. They have a premium plan but the free plan will work fine.

Choosing a Paddle Board Subniche

You can absolutely create a general paddle board niche blog. However, sometimes a subniche within a particular niche can do very well in terms of earning affiliate commissions.

Some paddle board subniches to consider include:

  • paddle boards for fishing
  • inflatable paddle boards
  • race and downwind boards
  • surf and whitewater
  • touring boards
  • yoga boards

If you choose to go into a paddle board subniche, make it your goal to provide as much helpful information as you can for any post that you create.

You do not need to be an expert in this niche. It may require a bit of research on your part. If you’ve ever written a research paper, you already have the skills needed to create a helpful blog post.

Closing Thoughts On Paddle Board Affiliate Programs

If you have an interest in water sports, the paddle board niche is a good niche to be in. Most paddle boards range anywhere from $300 up to $1,000 and more.

Creating a niche blog is one of the best ways to generate a consistent income from these affiliate programs. If you are ready to level up your affiliate commissions, consider following the same step-by-step training program I used when I got started.
